- As one of the leading sociology departments in Korea, our program
has long been recognized as its excellence in education and research
since its inception in 1998. With celebrated and established faculty
members in their respective fields, our program provides a wide-range
of sociological perspectives, particularly in the areas of class, labor,
culture, gender, sexuality, health, welfare politics, and social movements.
Supported by the Brain Korea 21 program of the National Research
Foundation of Korea since 2006, not only have we maintained our
reputation in both undergraduate and graduate training, but we have
also been able to establish extensive international networks for
academic and educational cooperation over the past years. Excellent
