The Department of Sociology at Chung-Ang University, established in 1998 at the close of the 20th century, is the most recent sociology department founded in Korea and Asia. Despite being a latecomer, it has leveraged this position to become one of Korea and Asia's most dynamic sociology departments. The department consistently receives excellent evaluations in global sociology department rankings conducted by various international university assessment organizations.
